I downloaded Avast Home Edition 4.8 and it disappointed me BIG TIME.
Its startup time is a few minutes if you wait for the bogging unnecessary memory test at each startup. Then it opens an irritating Simple User Interface dialog box each time I open it, following with its DVD interface which I find extremely hard to use though I can download some skins to improve on it.
For so long as Avast is running on my PC, my PC is in jail. It bogs down my whole system and it is best if you wanna destroy your old PC. I wouldn't dare run it again so I'm not certain if it has high detection and removal rates or not.
