Most Improved: Symantec hasn’t just recognized their slowdown issues, they’ve completely turned the weakness into a strength. Norton 2010 is one of the quickest, most resource-efficient, and overall fastest antivirus software.

Favorite Newcomers: We’d like to apologize for not adding them sooner, and extend a special welcome to Avira AntiVir and ZoneAlarm Antivirus, our newest reviews (and overall great products).

Best Antivirus for Geeks: Kaspersky is easy enough to use for anyone, but has some advanced features and overall professionalism that the tech-savvy are sure to appreciate.

Best Antivirus for Gamers: Our top picks all have an integrated silent gamer mode, but BitDefender takes the cake (though apparently the cake is some sort of a lie?) for offering a tailored interface specifically designed for the computer gamer profile. Though as to avoid angering any avid MMORPG players, we also would like to send a nod to ESET.
